YAL-1 Nose Turret#

The beam director from the Boeing YAL-1 Airborne Laser: a 1.5 m telescope in a rotating nose turret, behind a 1.8 m window. It stacks on a 3 m node. It tracks a target and fires a 1 MW chemical laser at whichever part it is held on. At 100 km a part burns through in about 3 to 5 seconds. One load of chemicals gives about twenty 5-second shots.
