Pantsir-S1 Point Defence System#
A Russian short-range air-defence vehicle on an 8×8 truck chassis. It carries twelve 57E6 missiles in two pods of six, two twin-barrel 2A38M 30 mm cannon, a spinning 1RS1 search radar and a 1TPP1 electro-optical director on the turret roof that you can look through. The missiles reach from 1.2 km to 20 km. They are command-guided: the vehicle tracks the target and steers each missile, so a missile is lost if the vehicle loses the track. The cannon cover 200 m to 4 km. The pods refill 12 seconds after the last missile leaves, and the cannon 20 seconds after they run dry. The Pantsir stacks on a 3 m node and has its own command module, so a craft made of nothing but the Pantsir can be built and launched.
