LITENING Targeting Pod#

An Israeli targeting pod that hangs under an aircraft. The whole nose of the pod rotates about its long axis while the sensor ball tilts inside it, so it can look almost anywhere below and around the aircraft. It sees out to 20 km, zooms to a 1° field of view, and carries a laser rangefinder and designator. The picture stays upright however far the nose has turned.
